Land continued…. • Natural resources • Petroleum • Copper • Asbestos • Limestone Gulf of Oman • Chromium • Gypsum • Marble Some of the water systems important to Oman are the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman. • Over all, the country comprises of a narrow coastal plain backed by hill ranges and an interior desert plateau

Climate and Vegetation • Climate-Hot, dry desert, humid along coast • Wild life- warm waters are home to 22 species of whales • Vegetation- five different vegetation types of the dominant species: • The Sideroxylon mascatense–Dodonaea viscosa group on grazed and the Olea europaea–Fingerhuthia africana group on ungrazed plateau sites at 2 000 m a.s.l., the Ziziphus spina-cristi–Nerium oleander group on wadi sites, and the Moringa peregrina–Pteropyrum scoparium group at 1 200 m a.s.l, and the Acacia gerrardii–Leucas inflata group at 1 700 m a.s.l..

Ahmad is currently preparing for the 2009 Formula Renault BARC Championship due to start in May. Having spent four months away from his Formula Renault, Al Harthy started with a shakedown at the Rockingham circuit. It quickly became apparent that there were no effects from the long break, and Ahmad Said al Harthy was quickly the top runner during the unofficial BARC test. “It feels great to be back in my racing car, we have a very strong testing programme and it’s very good to be top of the time sheets once again”, mentioned Ahmad.
