Output 3: potential engagement • Strategies vary depending on specific issues and stage of policy development • Different approaches for established policies; policies under development; those yet to be developed (gaps) • Working at national level from community level • Working with different SADC directorates – between the summit meetings and the setting of the summit agenda • Capitalising on article 23 of the SADC Treaty • Build capacity of the SADC-CNGO • Monitoring and evaluation of SADC decisions and resolutions

  6. Challenges • Poor record of resolution implementation by SADC and its member states • Lack of political will • Lack of track record in terms of advocacy and campaigning in the region by CSO
