  1. Barack Obama Student Name: Ababacar Sonko

  2. Who is Barack Obama? • Barack Hussein Obama II born, August 4, 1961 is the 44th and current President of the United States. • He is the first African American to hold the office. • Obama previously served as a United States Senator from Illinois, from January 2005 until he resigned after his election to the presidency in November 2008.

  3. Who are the people in Obama’s immediate family? • Obama met Michelle Robinson and they became engaged in 1991, and were married on October 3, 1992. • The couple's first daughter, Malia Ann, was born on July 4, 1998, followed by a second daughter, Natasha ("Sasha"), on June 10, 2001.

  4. What colleges did Obama attend? • Obama moved to Los Angeles in 1979 to attend Occidental College. • In February 1981 and later in 1981, he transferred to Columbia University in New York City, where he majored in political science with a specialty in international relations and graduated with a B.A. in 1983.

  5. What is Obama’s favorite sport? • Basketball is a team sport in which two teams of five players try to score points by throwing or "shooting" a ball through the top of a basketball hoop while following a set of rules. • Basketball is one of the most popular and widely viewed sports in the world.

  6. What do I like the most about Obama? • Obama's family history, early life and upbringing, and Ivy League education differ markedly from those of African-American politicians who launched their careers in the 1960s through participation in the civil rights movement.Obama is also not a descendent of American slaves.Expressing puzzlement over questions about whether he is "black enough", Obama told an August 2007 meeting of the National Association of Black Journalists that "we're still locked in this notion that if you appeal to white folks then there must be something wrong.“Obama acknowledged his youthful image in an October 2007 campaign speech, saying: "I wouldn't be here if, time and again, the torch had not been passed to a new generation."
