  12. Solution: Thinking Outside the Box Taking car safety past car seats and booster seats.

  13. Solution: Thinking Outside the Box No one solution or safety device can prevent injuries. It is the combination of active adult supervision and role modeling.

  14. Solution: Active Adult Supervision • The unsupervised child is at greatest risk for injury. • The principal rule to prevent any injury involves active adult supervision.

  15. Solution: Active Adult Supervision

  16. Solution: Active Adult Supervision Protect Your Child Not Even for a Minute

  17. Solution: Active Adult Supervision 7 years and under:Should not be left alone for any period of time. This may include leaving children unattended in cars, playgrounds, and backyards. The determining consideration would be the dangers in the environment and the ability of the caretaker to intervene.

  18. Solution: Active Adult Supervision Not even for a minute.

  19. Solution: Role Model Why not safety?

  20. Solution: Role Models Who influences children more?

  21. Solution: Role Models 83 percent consider moms as safety models 72 percent consider fathers 56 percent named teachers 26 percent site their friends

  22. Solution: Role Models Knowing is only half the battle……

  23. Solution: Role Models • Let kids know the importance of safety behavior • Adult usage of safety device • Don’t let guard down

  24. Solution: Think Outside the Box Active Supervision Set good examples Know the law Take precautions It CAN happen to your child.

  25. Solution: Think Outside the Box Kids will do as adults do, regardless of what adults say. No one has ever molded a child’s life through mere words and commands. However, words backed up by personal actions can impact a child forever. Derek Peterson
