  5. Selecting Technological Products • Three important factors: • function, value, and appearance.

  6. Maintaining Technological Products • Maintenanceis done on a schedule, therefore, sometimes called preventive maintenance. • buildings and products require maintenance. • Maintenance manuals list the type of maintenance needed, methods for performing maintenance, and a time schedule.

  8. Altering Technological Products • The life of products can be extended by altering.

  9. Disposing of Technological Products • Recycling can reduce the strain on resources and landfills. • Some food waste can be put in a compost bin to be used as fertilizer. • Disposal of hazardous materials should be done through hazardous waste centers.
