Section A: Romeo and Juliet • Character – 7 marks – 10 mins • Focus purely on the extract given • Use PEEE or PEEEEEE • If you’re running out of time, then list lots of adjectives to describe the character • Don’t forget to use quotes to back it up! • KEY WORDS: suggests, shows, reveals, indicates

  24. Section A: Romeo and Juliet • b) Performance – 7 marks – 10 mins • PAVE? • Back up with quotes • Give explanation of HOW they should perform and reasons WHY • Key words: symbolises, indicates, suggests, hints, infers

Section A: Romeo and Juliet • c) Theme in another part of the play – 10 marks – 15 mins • Context – which part of the play have you chosen, explain it briefly and reasons why • Characters – how the theme affects the characters in this scene • Consequences – what consequences this theme and scene has on ending of the play

Section C: Of Mice and Men • c)Theme in another part of the novel – 10 marks – 15 mins • Social and Historical Context – Relevant part of the 1930s • Part of the novel – Explain which part you have chosen and how it links to theme and context • Consequences – what consequences this theme and scene has on ending of the novel/characters

Section C: Writing Features • Spend at least 5 minutes planning and checking your writing • Sentence variety – in length (short and long), and sentence starters • Use a one-word sentence, and a one-sentence paragraph. • Like this. • Use AFOREST features (alliteration, RQs, statistics etc.) • their/they’re/there and your/you’re • Use all of the punctuation marks you can : ; ( ) … “” . , • CHECK YOUR CAPITAL LETTERS AND FULL STOPS!! • Opening and Ending Links/Bomb sentences • Try to use more ambitious vocabulary, even if you can’t spell it! You still get credit. Any questions?
