4. Domesticate (v) • To make something suitable for being in a home. • Domestic (adj) • Mary like to cook and sew. She was very domestic.

5. Folklore (n) • Traditional myths of people transmitted orally • Folkloric (adj) • Pre-historical studies involve the use of folklore.

6. Fossilize (v) • To become preserved in clay or stone or ash after death, so that a natural record is left of the original organism; to become rigid and stuck in old ways • Fossil (n); fossilization (n) • There are dinosaur fossils on display in the Museum of Natural History in NYC.

7. Relic (n) • Something left from a long-ago culture, time period, or person • A record player is now considered a cultural relic, and someday our computers will be as well!

10. Saga (n) • A long story about important events from long ago • The Iliad is an example of a saga.

11. Vestige (n) • A visible trace that something once existed • The archaeological site contained several vestiges of the old village.
