  7. Current Initiatives Materials Management Operating Guideline • Provides best practices in managing material flow throughout the manufacturing process RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) • Tire and Wheel Label RFID Standard—the first and only item-level RFID standard in the world

Current Initiatives Warranty Costs – Early Warning Standards • 2003 U.S. automotive warranty costs reported at nearly $12 billion • Each 1 day delay of a major recall campaign costs approximately $1 million • It may take in excess of 250 days to execute a major recall • A 10% decrease in “detect time” could save $25 million for a manufacturer

Current Initiatives Engineering Change Order • Focuses on common format and terminology so that engineering data can be transferred down the supply chain quickly and efficiently Interoperability • Objective is to enable trading partners to view and share business information regardless of software packages used by either company Healthcare?
