  8. National Private Grants • The DOW is up • Consumer confidence is up • Unemployment is trending downward • Consumer borrowing increased • CEO confidence is up • Winter weather was nonexistent in much of the US, so people didn’t have huge heating bills.

  9. What are Grants? • Grants are awards of money given by a government agency, foundation, corporation or other entity to fund a particular project • Grants are not contracts for work or products. • Generally given to organizations as opposed to individuals

Categories of Resources Categories of Support • Special Project – new project or project with limited timeframe • Operating – running program to meet community needs • Capital/Equipment – specified amount for construction, renovation, expansion, purchase land or equipment • Endowments - planned gifts, will or trust
