  2. Common Core State Standards (CCSS) • Arkansas created their own SLEs. Conway took the standards and created a pacing guide • Arkansas SLE • Conway pacing guide • Arkansas adopted Common Core standards. Teachers have been working on their guides for K-2, 3-8 and soon 9-12 will come on board next year.

  3. CCSS and Conway Library Curriculum • Conway’s Elementary Libraries were added to the report card for grades last January, 2012. • There were too many standards to give a grade for everything. • Our curriculum director told us to look at the CCSS for teachers and find two of our standards that was not being taught by the teachers. • We found two for each nine weeks starting in the 3rd nine weeks.

  4. Understanding by Design • UbD template • 3rd nine weeks • 1st nine weeks • We have a share drive where these and all grade level UbDs are stored so we can view what the classroom teachers are teaching. Then we created a list for our use. • Grade level units
