  2. There is a significant shift in the political climate with a majority of people now saying the government should do more to solve problems and help meet the needs of people.

  4. We have reached an all-time high in the percentage of Americans who believe the number of uninsured willINCREASEin the next six months to one year.

  6. Although children are not the immediate top-of-mind focus when voters are asked to think of uninsured Americans, children are clearly perceived as the top choice to cover if voters had to choose.

  7. Combined Choice Expand health care coverage to… 46% Children 36% Other adults 55-65 29% Minimum wage workers 24% Single mothers 17% Unemployed adults 16% Working middle class 8% Young adults 8% Minority groups

  8. The top messages across the research focus on: • The rising costs of health care putting health coverage at risk; • The health and financial consequences of losing health insurance; and, • Connecting messages to the face of the uninsured (“chances are someone you know has been uninsured”).
