  2. OUR COURSES  We’ll be pleased to talk through our Nationally Accredited Melbourne Hairdressing Course options for Hairdressers and Barbers. Remember, our Hair Academy Courses are available at our two Biba Academy locations, in both Fitzroy and Swanston Street, Melbourne.

Certificate III in Hairdressing (SHB30416)  BIBA Academy’s Certificate III in Hairdressing (SHB30416) is Government accredited, Government funded and Austudy approved, making the course accessible to more students.  Successful completion of BIBA Academy’s Certificate III in Hairdressing (SHB30416) will give you the hands-on experience required to work in any top salon as a qualified hairdresser.  This course covers: Salon reception • Basin service • Salon duties • Colouring and chemical straightening • Styling and finishing • • Women’s and men’s cutting Braiding and hair-ups •

Certificate III in Hairdressing (SHB30416) for Apprentices  BIBA Academy’s Certificate III in Hairdressing (SHB30416) for Apprentices involves approximately two years of study over their three-year contract. Employers have an option of sending their apprentice on day release (one day per week) or on block release (one week in every five weeks) for their off-the-job training. During this time each student must demonstrate competency in all aspects of hairdressing to complete the units of the course.  All apprenticeship training is conducted at the BIBA Academy’s Johnston Street Campus in Fitzroy unless otherwise arranged.

Certificate III in Barbering (SHB30516) for Full-time Students  BIBA Academy’s Certificate III in Barber Melbourne (SHB30516) is Government accredited and Austudy approved, making the course accessible to more students. Government funding is also available to approved applicants under Skills First.  Successful completion of BIBA Academy’s Certificate III in Barbering will give you the hands-on experience required to work in any top barbershop or salon as a men’s stylist.

Certificate III in Barbering (SHB30516) for Apprentices  Barber Fitzroy Certificate III in Barbering (SHB30516) for Apprentices involves approximately two years of study over their three-year contract.
