  1. Welcome to the parents’ meeting for the Lake Garda – Sorrento Educational Visit 11th – 27th April 2019

  2. DEPARTURE: • Thursday 11th March 2019 • All pupils MUST attend school on Thursday in non school uniform • Assemble outside School main entrance as soon as school ends 15.40 at the latest! • Loading coach 15.45. • Departure 16.00 hrs!!! • Immediate family only please!

  3. LUGGAGE allowed: • One medium size suitcase for Sorrento! • One small size suitcase for Lake Garda! • Bring backpack or easily carried bag to use during the outings and on the coach. • Make sure you have a SAFE way of carrying your purse and valuables.

  4. TRAVEL: • A coach is provided for our use throughout the stay • Channel crossing via P&O ferries over Dover. • Arrival at hotel Splendid Sole in Lake Garda: Friday 12th April at lunch time.

  5. RETURN – Saturday 27th April • Leaving the hotel Friday 26th after dinner . • Estimated time of arrival (Boundary Rd) at approximately 13.00 hrs • Please collect your daughter promptly we ALL need to get home for a good rest. Teachers will be back to work on Monday! • All Girls are expected to ATTEND SCHOOL on Monday 29th April!

  7. Rooms are for 3/4 pupils and all have en-suite bathrooms

  8. SAFETY & SECURITY • On the coach – seat bells on at all times. Be considerate of the drivers, don’t make unnecessary noise and keep the coach clean. • At hotel – keep rooms TIDY. Be considerate of other guests. • Personal – follow the same personal safety rules as you would in England. DO NOT GIVE TELEPHONE NUMBERS or the name of our hotel to anyone you meet. • Possessions : Don’t bring expensive jewellery or other valuable items YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE!

  9. MONEY: What’s included • FULL BOARD • How much to bring? Up to you – allow enough for extra drinks, ice-creams and souvenirs. • Need to bring money to buy dinner (outgoing journey) on ferry. Allow money to buy food for return journey. • Get your Euros in advance - no commission at Tesco. Ferry won’t give a great rate and will use up your time. • LOOK AFTER IT!! Ideally have it in waistband – not in obvious purse or little handbags. • €50 note cash deposit for hotel damage (to be handed asap to Mrs Esposito and not later than Wednesday 27th March )

  10. INSURANCE / PASSPORT • School insurance, as for all trips • European Health Card for EU medical insurance • Do not forget to hand in your passport & European Health Cardat the meeting!!!

BEHAVIOUR: • High standards are expected as usual • At hotel and during all visits/outings • Strictly no: SMOKING, ALCOHOL, DRUGS…. • Usual school sanctions will apply • Mrs O’Neill will be informed immediately and Parents will have to fly over to collect their daughter if she fails to follow school rules. But I’m confident it won’t happen, will it?

Reply slips must be returned signed by parents to Mrs Esposito at the meeting/ a.s.a.p • Home and emergency telephone numbers and medical information (allergies/ current medication, etc)to be handed in a.s.a.p (Please state if vegetarian) • Immediate family only at school drop-off/ pick up • Give your passport and health card at the meeting ! • Keep drivers happy and treat coach with respect (no chewing gum, mess, screaming allowed on board) • Money (Euros) – to be kept in waistband, not purse or handbag, no recommendation on amount to take. Be vigilant and always check your change. • Bring costume jewellery – not gold/ valuable items • Bring appropriate clothes for EasterSunday Mass! (leggings, shorts, mini skirts, sleeveless and see through tops arestrictly forbidden!!!)

Items to bring: mixture of clothes for all weathers – not just shorts! cardigan/ jumper for evening sensible shoes/ trainers going out clothes something suitable for church ( Easter Sunday Mass ) towel for use by pool sun cream / sunglasses travel cushion / tissues basic first aid kit: plasters/ travel sickness tablets DVDs (no higher than 15 rating) Allowed on the coach just water! No food/sweets/chewing gum nor sugary drinks please!

You are responsible for your own valuables • Take any worries or concerns about any aspect of the trip to your group leader. • Be prompt for all meetings and particularly coach departure times. • Timekeeping – listen to instructions, be punctual at all times and keep to bed times…OR ELSE! • Accommodation – 3* and 4* Hotels . We are one of the very few schools allowed here, so respect this and report any damage as soon as practical. Be considerate of other guests (no shouting, screaming, running, banging etc.) Keep rooms tidy (store suitcases away, do not leave towels on the floor, no food, etc.) Do not use towels to remove make-up or you’ll have to pay to replace them. • Only three people in the hotel lift at one time. • Do not give telephone numbers or name of hotel(s) to anyone you meet • Teachers are ‘in loco parentis’ so no alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, and inappropriate behaviour with boys – school rules apply. Mrs O’Neill and parents will be informed immediately. • Finally, make the most of this wonderful opportunity and have fun!
