As Owner’s Engineer, we support port operators with technical skills in the following areas: Waterfront structures Drainage / pollution control Flood risk management Environmental assessment and consents CDM / health & safety services Contract management Site supervision Some examples of our work in these areas follow, including for DP World at London Gateway...

  4. Waterfront structures – new build Rabigh, Saudi Arabia Owner’s Engineer design review for 100,000 dwt oil tanker jetty constructed under design and build contract. Devonport Dockyard Detailed design of jetty for lifting out 200 tonne landing craft using crane hoist.

  5. Waterfront structures – upgrades Falklands Jetty, Marchwood Detailed design of jetty upgrade to Falkland Jetty, including fendering and mooring dolphin for 20,000 dwt supply ships. Ernsettle Jetty, Devonport Structural analysis, refurbishment of fenders and reinforced concrete structural frame.

  6. Waterfront structures – inspections and structural analysis London Gateway Port Analysis of redundant jetty structures to enable use as reclamation spread anchorage without damaging seawall flood defence. Cattedown Wharves, Plymouth Collision damage repair to RC quay.

  7. Drainage & pollution control MarchwoodMillitary Port Pavement reconstruction incorporating gravity drainage system, interceptors and tidal outfall. BAA (formerly British Airport Authority Multiple projects at Gatwick, Edinburgh, Stanstead and Heathrow for interception and treatment of run-off containing de-icing agents to meet strict water quality consents.

  8. Flood and coastal risk management Port of Truro, Cornwall Integration of new flood defence with working quay. C.Ro, Purfleet, Essex Design review of proposals to maintain flood defences during construction of a new ro-ro jetty.

  9. Flood and coastal risk management Newton’s Cove, Weymouth Seawall and revetment replacement to protect against coastal erosion, including slope stabilisation, within a SSSI. Winner of BCI Environmental Project Award 2004. Felixstowe Coastal Defences, Suffolk 21 Rock fishtail groynes, 220,000 m3 beach recharge, 150m seawall replacement. Strategy to construction. Winner of ICE East Merit Award 2008.

MarchwoodMillitary Port Habitat Regulations assessments for jetty modifications, dredging and pavement reconstruction.
