  2. Brief • “This group will define data exchange formats and produce a schema for such operations that cover all aspects of the metadata, the analytical data (both spectroscopic and chromatographic) and the data analysis."

Planned Outputs • A specification of the data for exchange • The Schema - A data model • A reference implementation for data transfer • Documentation • Working demonstration applications; including but not limited to: • Datasets marked up in the XML, viewable on the web via suitable XSLT, CSS or similar. • A simple data entry system to create the mark up.

  4. Initial plans • Review existing standards in preparation for input from other working groups • Receive input and develop (from existing standards where possible) a first draft format

  5. Investigation of Existing Initiatives • MS • mzData • Columns • spML • Inc other separations • NMR • Griffin, Viant, Hardy groups • FuGE • Integrative (systems) biology

  6. Initial Review of WG Drafts • Biological sample context WG drafts • Reviewed • Possible alignment • Clarifications

  7. MICheck • New Initiative (MSI involvement) • MICheck Portal • A one stop shop for reporting specifications for biological and medical science • MICheck Foundry • Collaborative project to investigate the scope for integration between reporting specifications
