Virtual Louisiana • House Bill 34 (Act 345) • Creates a statewide planning & mapping system for public facilities to assist first responders during an emergency event • GOHSEP has acquired a computer based system called Virtual Louisiana which provides access to required data for first responders in accordance with HB 34 • GOHSEP Regional Coordinators are assisting local emergency management with the coordination & collection of school building plans • Virtual Louisiana currently contains school plans for seven parishes

AWR 148 class: eight hour course for school administrators & emergency responders that provides awareness on effectively responding to a emergency involving a school building • Course delivery: • Course is provided free of charge to all agencies • Crisis Management for School-Based Incidents • Ouachita Parish, December 2012 - 17 students • Ouachita Parish, January 2013 - 38 students • Lincoln Parish, March 2013 - pending approval • Winn, St. Tammany & Plaquemines Parish - course inquires

Active Shooter • Active Shooter courses sponsored by GOHSEP: • ALERRT Level 1 (Basic) - 16 hour course • ALERRT Train the Trainer - 40 hour course • Courses offered quarterly by Calcasieu & St. Charles Sheriff’s offices • Courses since 2010: • 6 ALERRT Level 1 - 200 students • 7 ALERRT Train the Trainer - 215 students
