  5. Past Recipients of Historical Welded Structure Award USS KIDD (DD-661) • Launched February 28, 1943. Known as the “Pirate of the Pacific. • Designated a Historical Welded Structure May 17, 2003 - Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

  6. Past Recipients of Historical Welded Structure Award USS Nautilus (SSN 571) • Keel laid by President Harry S. Truman - Electric Boat Shipyard, Groton, Connecticut June 14, 1952. • September 30, 1954, NAUTILUS is first commissioned nuclear powered ship in the U.S. Navy. • Designated a Historical Welded Structure August 11, 2001 in Groton, Connecticut.

  7. Past Recipients of Historical Welded Structure Award Hoover Dam-Penstock System • Constructed by Babcock & Wilcox in 1932. • Fabricated from 45,000 tons of steel and welded into 3 miles of pipe. • Designated a Historical Welded Structure December 3, 2002 - Barberton, Ohio.

Past Recipients of Outstanding Development in Welded Fabrication Award Trans-Alaska Pipeline • 800 miles of pipeline completed May, 1977 by the Alyeska Pipeline Service Company. • 66,000 manual welds, 42,000 automatic double joint welds, moves 13 billion barrels of oil. • Designated a Outstanding Development in Welded Fabrication, November 16, 2002
