  4. Representative from the local Vet Center/PTSD Counseling Center • What they should discuss: • PTSD • Readjustment counseling • Marital/family counseling • Substance abuse counseling • Military/sexual trauma counseling

  5. State VA representative • What they should discuss: • State education benefits • State veteran benefits

  6. County VA representative • What they should discuss: • County education benefits • County veteran benefits

  7. US Department of VA representative • What they should discuss: • Federal Veteran benefits • GI Bill Benefits • Chapter 30 • Chapter 31 • Chapter 33 • Chapter 35

  8. Representative for the VA Work-Study program from your college • What they should discuss: • Eligibility requirements • How to apply • Brief description of your college’s specific VA office purpose/goals • Success stories as a result of the program • Contact information of your VA office coordinator

Keynote guest speaker • Should be someone known in the local community for assisting veterans or a veteran his/her self (if possible) • What they should discuss: • Background/Branch of service • Their transition from military to civilian life *(if applicable) • Personal experience with aiding veterans

Orientation Timeline • SVA Rep ~approx. 10 min • VA Hospital Rep ~approx. 15 min • Vet Center/PTSD Rep ~approx. 15 min • State VA Rep ~approx. 10 min • County VA Rep ~approx. 10 min • USDVA Rep ~approx. 15 min • VA Work-study Rep ~approx. 10 min • Keynote Speaker ~approx. 15 min * *Entire orientation should last no more than 2 hours** Food & beverages should be made available to ensure the veteran has a positive first impression with these agencies and their reintegration process.
