  1. TOUGH ENOUGH: HOW TO MEET LIFE’S CHALLENGES THROUGH TRUE SELF-LOVE Excerpts from the book:

  2. . . .I want you to have a love for yourself so strong, that you’ll be able to walk through fire! I want you to know a love that empowers you to rise above problems, fear, worry, and sorrow . . .

  3. And when all is said and done, I want you to possess esteem for yourself that enables you to know joy, confidence, and peace.

  4. . . . .If I seemed calm, it was because I was trying to figure things out, and I knew I needed to be peaceful in my mind in order to do that. . . .

  5. I was calm too, because I was always aware that I was a part of an incredible universe, and I thought that meant I was important—just because I was here.

  6. I wanted very much to believe in myself as a special part of this vast world, but I had to sift through a lot of nonsense first before believing in me could actually be possible . . .

  7. When I asked myself the question that Sam had asked me (how do I want the world to change as a result of me being here), I quickly realized the effect that one person’s efforts could have on other people. . .

  8. Of all the things we want most in life, I think happiness is at the top of the list. Isn’t that what we really want, is to just be happy? . . . So let’s explore the highly sensitive subject of what we feel, andhow we process our feelings . . .

  9. Interacting with family is where our first attempt at communicating, problem-solving, and coping with issues, begins. Here, you have a chance to hone your skillsof observation, negotiating, patience, compromise, and reasoning . . .

  10. What are pitfalls? Pitfalls are those situations that if handled poorly, can throw your life so far out of balance, that you can hardly get it back on track again. We’ve talked about many of them already . . .

  11. When people develop a talent of any kind, it helps them build self-confidence. What hobbies, skills, sports, or musical instruments are you interested in learning to help increase your confidence level?

  12. Who do you know that can help you get involved in one or more of those activities or point you in the right direction?

  13. In the coming chapters. . .you’ll learn a style of thinking that will help you to become ‘solution-oriented’. . . . . . are you ready to learn the skills that lead to joy, happiness, and success? Come. . . fly with me.
