  1. How are stacks formed? By Mikey, Amy and Amelie.

  2. The Needles • People from all over the world come to see the wonderful stacks. • Stacks can be found all over the world. • This picture is of ‘The Needles’ in the Isle of Wight.

  3. .Firstly the waves bash against the rock and starts to form a crack. .It is very fascinating .Waves are extremely strong so be careful when you are playing in the sea that you don’t get washed away. The waves

  4. Then an arch forms and the arch looks a bit like a cave. An arch is in a shape of a cave and sticks out of the sea. A stack takes approximately 10 years to form. Arch

  5. Once an arch gets too old, strong waves come and bash against it and a new stack forms. This is because the arch starts to Collapse and astack is formed. Arch and how it collapses.

  6. A sea stack is a very small island. A sea stack is caused by the natural erosion of headlands along the coast lines. It happens in Summer, Winter, Spring or Autumn. Stacks

  7. Conclusion • So next time you go to the sea and see a stack or an arch just think about how it was formed!.

  8. Glossary • Island- a piece of land surrounded by water. • Wave- a ridge moving along the surface of the sea. • Headland- a large piece of high land that sticks out of the sea. • Collapse- fall in the sea or break or fall to pieces
