Highlight of Current Activities • One of the objectives of ITS Task Force is to exchange Information and views on ITS standardization activities in each PSO. • The Task Force had a face-to-face meeting on March 2010 in Tokyo with attendees from ETSI, TIA, TTA and ARIB. • In the meeting, the Task Force exchanged updated information and discussed on the followings; • ITS cooperative systems in 700MHz, 5.8/5.9GHz band • Reconfigurable radio systems for ITS • Coordination of the ITS standard activities

Strategic Direction • The Task Force will conduct the information exchange on ITS relevant activities among PSOs. • To facilitate the information exchange, the Task Force should continue to invite interested PSOs to participate in the Task Force. • Considering the progress of ITS standardization activities in each ITS PPSO, the Task Force should discuss towards coordination of the ITS standardization activities.

  4. Challenges • ITS standardization activities are in progress in each PSO and the region. • Exchange of information on the existing ITS related standards and current ITS standardization activities should be facilitated. • Coordination of ITS standardization activities is desirable to avoid conflicting standards. • The information exchange and the discussions towards coordination should be led by the Task Force.

  5. Next Steps/Actions • Continue to exchange information and views on ITS standardization activities. • Invite interested PSOs to participate in the Task Force. • Consider and discuss the possibility on coordination in ITS standardization activities among PSOs.
