  3. Cost Book = Baseline costs → fixed How are actual costs accounted for? Follow-up on differences to the cost book: • Requested by PB (see minutes of 104th meeting) • Requested by AFC • Needed for working group set up by Council Pilot project for WPG3 with these goals: • Document and follow differences to cost book • Document the reasons that lead to the differences • external increases/decreases • decisions • Target-Actual comparison (Soll-Ist-Vergleich) Cost Tracking

Comparison of forecasted and achieved progress: Jun. 10 -> Dec. 10 • Contract between EXFEL and the Efremov institute was signed in August 2010. • Contract between EXFEL and the Budkerinstitute was signed in August 2010, too • Both institutes started with their work according to the contracts. • Magnet type XBB is in the manufacturing process (Efremov institute). • 2 undulator intersection magnets XQA were delivered in October 2010. Both magnets are according to the magnetic specifications.

  5. Comparison of forecasted and achieved progress: Jun. 10 -> Dec. 10 cont’d • One XQA was installed on the intersection mock-up for test assembly. The other was shipped to MSL for setting up and testing the magnetic measuring device. • The production of the 125 XQA magnets continues. • The manufacturing drawings for the injector magnet type XQI were released. • The magnet type models XQF, XQD, XBL, XSC were built in the overall master model. Waiting now for the manufacturing drawings for XQF, XQD and XSC.

  7. Activities and milestones scheduled forJan. 11 -> Jun. 11 • Start manufacturing the magnet types according to the contract time schedule and to the overall installation plan. • First delivery of 30 XQA magnets to MSL in April 2011.

  8. Remark: When the magnet type production starts the quantity of the type must be frozen. WP scheduleandcriticalpath

  10. Resource Planning • Not included in the cost book and contracts are the pilotherms. In total 40 k€ are needed additionally over the next 4 years.
