  1. Hera (Greek), Juno (Roman) • Parents- Kronos and Rhea • Birthplace- Crete • Sphere of Influence- the sky and the starry heavens • Attributes- beautiful woman, wearing a crown, lotus tipped staff, and a hawk, royal lion, or a cockatoo • Favorite Places- Argos, Sparta, and Mycenae

  2. Ancient Picture. • This picture is part of a mural the C.5th B.C. This picture clearly shows some attributes of Hera. One of these is the lotus tipped staff she is holding. This is shown with her in many images of her. Another quality is the hawk. This can also be seen in other images (could be replaced by a lion). If you look at her hair you could also depict a crown. This crown is very common along with the idea that she is a beautiful woman.

  3. Modern Picture • This picture is a drawing of Hera made in more modern times. This also shows many attributes and characteristics of her. One major attribute is the lotus tipped staff that she is holding in her right hand. Another one is the cockatoo, standing next to her. In depictions of Hera there is usually an animal with her like a lion, cockatoo, or a hawk. She is also wearing a head piece that resembles a crown.
