  2. HELENA STREET LEAD • EPA/R8 Lead Program receives notification from Mesa County Health Dept. • Male child, 2yrs. old with high blood lead levels (19 μg/dL) • Consultant suspects lead in soils • September 9, 2009, Response Unit deployed to conduct initial investigation

  3. Actions Taken Hazardous substance poses immediate threat to public health • Mobilized clean-up contractor – fence area • Contaminated soils excavated beginning 9/16 • Approx. 14 CY soil sent for disposal • Wipe samples inside home per ASTM Std E1728-03
