  1. MHT Compliance with Gulfstream G250 Airplane Flight Manualand Operational Performance Manual Statement of Workdated 12 July, 2007 Outstanding SGML Issues

  2. General Using the proposed DTD and FOSI creates a gap in MHT understanding of the requirements of the SOW concerning the manual format and deliverables. Performing bi-directional SGML editing while retaining the AFM layout and automation may cause additional concerns. The following are typical issues:

  3. Overview Maintaining performance tables format Maintaining complex tables format Cross-references containing multiple character formats creation capability Graphic formats compatibility Graphics change bars capability Document automation compatibility Multiple editing locations

  4. Performance Tables format Per Gulfstream’s requirement, the current tabulated performance data format dictates to construct tables as follows: Negative cell spacing. Automatic alternating row cell colors. Four-row straddled and un-straddled table heading. Straddled title column. Does Gulfstream intend to provide MHT with DTD and tools to support the deliverables specified by SOW 5.7?

  5. Performance Tables format

  6. Complex Tables format The weight and balance tables format include the following: Rotated tables. Tables containing background text and graphics. Irregular shading of table cells. Straddled cells. Running table heads containing multiple paragraphs in text frames. Does Gulfstream intend to provide MHT with DTD and tools to support the deliverables specified by SOW 5.7?

  7. Complex Tables format - 1 Rotated tables Straddled cells

  8. Complex Tables format - 2 Tables containing background text and graphics. Irregular shading of table cells..

  9. Complex Tables format - 3 Running table heads containing multiple paragraphs in text frames

  10. Cross-references Containing Multiple Character Formats Cross reference may contain one or more character format such as: <Links><$paratext> <Aural>X

  11. Graphic formats Per the requirement in SOW 5.7.3 calls for color graphics. The graphic formats allowed by SGML rules are CGM and TIFF CCITT4. CGM format is limited in text and facet presentation. TIFF CCITT4 format cannot display grayscale or color. Currently, the main format used is WMF. Does Gulfstream intend to provide MHT with DTD and tools to support the graphic formats?

  12. Graphics Change Bars Graphics cannot be partially marked by change bars. The CHG attribute must be assigned to text. This causes authorities and customers dissatisfaction.

  13. Document Automation Native SGML will degrade automation and prolong revision preparations, preventing the following: Automatic links between page revision information, chapter data and LOE. Advanced links capability. Automatic advanced PDF creation. These issues affect quality and timetable.

  14. Document Automation - 1 Automatic links between page revision information, chapter data and LOE

  15. Document Automation - 2 Advanced links capability

  16. Document Automation - 3 Automatic advanced PDF creation

  17. Multiple Editing Locations 50% of the systems section is to be edited by GAC: Definition of the work to be performed at Gulfstream (SOW 5.2.3). Develop workflow and processes Content management method to be defined. Text and artwork preparation, tools and methods to be defined. Responsibility to update the content and maintain configuration in the development phase and thereafter to be defined.
