The War of the Kings Genesis 14:1-3 And it came about in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goiim, that they made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar). All these came as allies to the valley of Siddim (that is, the Salt Sea).

4. The Vassal City-States Rebel Genesis 14:4-6 Twelve years they had served Chedorlaomer, but the thirteenth year they rebelled. 8. The Sacking of Sodom and Gomorrah Genesis 14:10, 11 Now the valley of Siddim was full of tar pits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and they fell into them. But those who survived fled to the hill country. Then they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah and all their food supply, and departed.

9. Lot is Taken Captive Genesis 14:12 And they also took Lot, Abram's nephew, and his possessions and departed, for he was living in Sodom.

10. Abraham is Called a Hebrew Genesis 14:13 Then a fugitive came and told Abram the Hebrew. Now he was living by the oaks of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol and brother of Aner, and these were allies with Abram.

11. Abraham Goes on a Rescue Mission Genesis 14:14 And when Abram heard that his relative had been taken captive, he led out his trained men, born in his house, three hundred and eighteen, and went in pursuit as far as Dan.

12. Abraham Defeats the Eastern Kings Genesis 14:15 And he divided his forces against them by night, he and his servants, and defeated them, and pursued them as far as Hobah, which is north of Damascus.

13. Abraham Rescues Lot Genesis 14:16 And he brought back all the goods, and also brought back his relative Lot with his possessions, and also the women, and the people.

15. Genesis 14:18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; now he was a priest of God Most High. Melchizedek ?My King is Righteous?

18. Genesis 14:20 And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand. ?And he gave him a tenth of all.? Abraham Pays Tithes of the Spoil

19. Genesis 28:22 ?And this stone, which I have set up as a pillar, will be God's house; and of all that Thou dost give me I will surely give a tenth to Thee.? Jacob Tithed

20. Genesis 14:21 And the king of Sodom said to Abram, ?Give the people to me and take the goods for yourself.? The King of Sodom? Demand

21. Genesis 14:22, 23 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, ?I have sworn to the Lord God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth, that I will not take a thread or a sandal thong or anything that is yours, lest you should say, ?I have made Abram rich.?? Abraham Refuses Sodom?s Goods

22. Genesis 14:24 ?I will take nothing except what the young men have eaten, and the share of the men who went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their share.? Abraham Refuses Sodom?s Goods

23. Genesis 14:20 And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand. ?And he gave him a tenth of all.? Abraham Pays Tithes of the Spoil

24. A King and Priest Forever Psalm 110:1, 2 The Lord says to my Lord: ?Sit at My right hand, Until I make Thine enemies a footstool for Thy feet.? The Lord will stretch forth Thy strong scepter from Zion, saying, ?Rule in the midst of Thine enemies.?

25. A King and Priest Forever Psalm 110:4 The Lord has sworn and will not change His mind, ?Thou art a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek.?

26. A King and Priest Forever Hebrews 7:14, 15 For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, a tribe with reference to which Moses spoke nothing concerning priests. And this is clearer still, if another priest arises according to the likeness of Melchizedek,

27. A King and Priest Forever Hebrews 7:16, 17 who has become such not on the basis of a law of physical requirement, but according to the power of an indestructible life. For it is witnessed of Him, ?Thou art a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek.?

28. A King and Priest Forever Hebrews 7:23, 24 And the former priests, on the one hand, existed in greater numbers, because they were prevented by death from continuing, but He, on the other hand, because He abides forever, holds His priesthood permanently.

29. Saved Through our Great High Priest Hebrews 7:25 Hence, also, He is able to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
