  2. What is Equipment Replacement Utility? The Equipment Replacement Utility is a tool used : • For Budget Planning (How much money is needed to Replace equipments over a period) • To determine what equipments needs to be replaced (either by a standard criteria or manually)

  3. Go to FA anywhere web,https://fa.hqmc.usmc.mil/infocenter/FASuiteInfoCenter.htmand click on the “USMC Replacement Utility” link Under “QUICK LINKS” at the low left corner

  4. Enter your FA Username and Password to log on the utility.

  5. Click on the dropdown box for “Funding Ceiling?” to select “Yes” if there is a fund limit or “No” if there is no limit. If you select “Yes” you will be asked to enter the “Funding Ceiling Amount($)” in the box below. If you select “No” you will be asked to enter a “Replace Above Threshold (%)” (for increase or decrease of Equip. Life Expectancy)

  6. Select the specific Location (based on your credentials). Next, you will select your choice of equipment group, either Asset or Component. You can also select ALL to run both. Then select specific Maintenance Class/es

  7. Enter the Estimate Average Inflation Rate (%) per year. A default of 3.43% is the long term average inflation rate since 1913. You can also enter “0” in this field if you don’t expect any increase in prices for equipments.

  8. Select Years to Predict for your budgeting.Then click continue

  9. Fields/Button definition. • VIEW DETAILS OF ALL – This will display all the equipment for the class/es (in the table) and allow users to manually prioritize equipment replacement. The selections may yield more or less than the initial replacement figure. • CONTINUE – Click on this if all looks well for year 1, to proceed to the subsequent year. • RE-CALCULATE COST FOR YEAR 1 – Use this button to re-calculate total costs for your replacement selections. • SAVE EQUIP COST – Use this button to save the current replacement cost for each piece of equipment of the same class. This button disappears after Year 1 • START OVER – Start the process all over, if you made any mistakes (select wrong location or Maint class..etc) • EQUIP CLASS – The Equipment Class you selected • DESCRIPTION – The Equipment Description • DOD GROUP – This is DOD Group • EXP YEARS – The standard Life Expectancy in YEARS • EXP MILES – The standard Life Expectancy in MILES • POSSESSED PRE-Y1 – This shows the current total amount of equipments in the class • EQUIP COST Y1 – This is the replacement cost for each equipment in the class. (This can be change to a price of your choice) • REPLACE Y1 – This display the amount of equipment needed to be replaced. • ADD Y1 – This is where you add equipment to the fleet, which will increase the fleet size.

  10. The page below will be displayed. Confirm all entries or make any necessary changes (change Cost, change replacement figures or add more equipment to fleet), then click “Continue” to move on to the next year.

  11. The next year’s replacement estimate is displayed with any/all changes (Price, Replacement or Addition) made in Year 1. Confirm all entries, then click “Continue” .

  12. This page will be displayed showing all calculations for all the years, with overall total. Click the view option of your choice (View Report by Year or View Report by Class)

  13. This is a Report By Class. You can export to PDF or Excel format by selecting one of the buttons. Then follow the directions
