  2. allay • VERB • Diminish or put at rest (fear, suspicion, or worry). • Relieve or alleviate (pain or hunger). Related words: alleviate, calm, subside • Ex: The new advertising campaign is an attempt to allay the public's concerns about the safety of the company's products.

  3. bellicose • ADJECTIVE • Demonstrating aggression and willingness to fight. • Related words: argumentative, aggressive, combative, pugnacious • EX: Bellicose hockey players who always seem to spend more time fighting than playing

  4. blazon • VERB or NOUN • V. to set forth conspicuously or publicly; display; proclaim. • EX: The union members blazoned their concerns on huge signs as they marched outside the workplace.
