Bebop Express: Scatting in Motion • Form four groups • Each group gets a card with “scatting” words • As a group, make up a movement pattern that goes with the sounds of the words. • Minimum length: one time through the scat words • Maximum length: four times through the scat words Try to surprise us by adding variety: Different levels: low, middle, high Slow, fast & frozen movements Unison movement or contrasting movements

  3. Sax Player Blee bah, blee bah Doot doot bah! Blee blee, doot doot. Blee! Doot! Wah!

  4. Drummer Rat-a-tat, rat-a-tat. Blam! Bop! Blam! Boom chicka, boom chicka. Wham! Ker-slam!

  5. Bass Player Ba doom, ba doom, Ba doom. Dow! Dow! Plink, plink, doom ba doom. Pow!

  6. Singer Ooooh wee ooh. Bop! She-bop! La tee dah. Do-wop! Doo-wop!
