  2. Thanks To All Prom Workers!!! Mr. Freddie Deese sends an “EPIC”thank-you to everyone involved with making the Class of 2012 Prom a huge success. This includes students and all staff. Teamwork made it possible.

  5. HEY SENIORS!!! • The billboard in front of 200 hall will be dedicated to the Class of 2012. • In order to support our class, please bring any senior picture/portrait you have to Amber Huggins or Laura Bird by this week!!!! • We would greatly appreciate it. Remember, it’s our last year, make it memorable 

  6. Powder-Puff • Powder-Puff game is Wednesday, May 16th @ 7:00. • Cost is $5.00 for students and adults to get in!!

  7. Congratulations • Sophomores Stephen Locklear and Mia Baxley were accepted to the North Carolina School of Math and Science. Good job you guys 

  8. Scholarship Information

  9. BigSun Scholarship • All student athletes are eligible for this award • Must be a senior attending a post secondary institute and currently involved in a sport at that institution or community • www.bigsunathletics.com for more info • Deadline: June 22, 2012 • Amount of Award: $500

  10. Selective Service • If you are a man ages 18-25 and living in the US, then you must register with Selective Service. According to law a man must register with Selective Service within 30 days of his 18th birthday. • Register at any Post Office or online at http://ww.ss.gov

  11. SeNiOrS • Seniors who have applied to Robeson Community College and took the compass test please sign up in guidance for a $1,000 scholarship.

  12. SENIORS! • Any seniors that attended at least 1 year at Long Branch Elementary School please see Ms. Kathy in Guidance for a $1000 scholarship.

  13. UNC Chapel Hill • If you are interested in attending UNC Chapel Hill and you are a Junior. Please come by to see Ms. Karen. • We can only take the first 15 students who register for Project Uplift.

  14. SAT & ACT Announcement • Seniors and Juniors: If you eat free or reduced lunch you may be eligible for a fee waiver for the SAT Test and College Applications. See your Guidance Counselor for information.

  16. Superintendents Academic Awards Ceremony • Ceremony will be held Thursday, May 17, 2012, at 7:00 pm @ Givens Performing Arts Center on the campus of UNCP.

  17. STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS!! You will always miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

  18. UNC Pembroke Upward Bound • Held on campus Thursday, May 17th during punch periods in the commons area for students interested in Upward Bound

  19. National Honor Society • Congratulations to the new National Honor Society members inducted last night! • Junior NHS Members, see Ms. Leslie Harris in room 814 to pay your dues if you have not done so.

  20. AP Calculus Review: • AP Calculus Review will be on Thursday during Learning Centers and this Saturday during Saturday Academy from 8:30-10:30am.

  21. ROTC CADETS: • All former ROTC cadets who have not returned your uniforms and are no longer in ROTC will be charged for the cost of uniforms. To prevent being charged return your uniform no later than Wednesday, May 16, 2012. • All cadets, especially Seniors, your names and the cost of uniform will go to Mrs. Peggy Locklear on May 18 and charged for outstanding school fees.

  22. Attention DECA Members • Meeting every Tuesday in room 207 immediately after school.

  23. ATTENTION STUDENTS • Students may register online for the SAT/ACT Test or pick up an application in Guidance. Register before it is too late!

  24. STUDENTS • Dress for Success every Thursday!!!! • Please participate

  25. Dress for Success MALES: Shirt/ tie • Khaki/ Slacks • Dress shoes FEMALES: Church dress • Dressy pant suits • Dress shoes

  26. Dressing for Success • Teachers are encouraged to offer classroom incentives to students who “Dress for Success.” Each week a student will be randomly selected by administration to receive a $10 gift card to www.MyLocker.net for the purchase of Purnell Swett gear.

  27. RAMS ATHLETICS Sports do not build Character…they reveal it.

  28. Winter/Spring Athletic Banquet • Tickets will go on sale May 14th • Cost=$7.00 for guest • Athletes that played a winter or spring sport will be admitted free • See Ms. Peggy Locklear in main office to purchase your tickets

  29. Stuntman/ Cheerleading Tryouts: • Stuntman/ Cheerleading Tryouts will be held May 21-23. • Time: 4-6pm • Everyone must have a physical completed before you can tryout. Tryout Packets can be picked up in office or off the Cheerleading website.

  30. Attention: • Ms. Sasha Davis, the Athletic Trainer, will be starting a class for students interested in Sports Medicine. • Sports Medicine Camp will be held July 16-20 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. • Please see Ms. Sue Patterson in Room 601 for information or if you have any questions.

  31. Athletic Physicals • Athletic Physicals will be held on Wednesday, May 23rd at 5:30pm. • They will be in the Gym- Cost is $10.00 • These physicals will be for the school year 2012-2013! • If you are interested in participating in any Sports next year, please make sure that you get this information to your parents.

  32. FOOTBALL • After school weight-lifting for football will be held on Monday and Wednesday only!

  34. Seniors • CLASS OF The class of 2012 is divine. Shout it loud and make it shine!! “12”

  35. Seniors: • Any Seniors with Perfect Attendance from Kindergarten to 12th Grade, please see Ms. Venega in guidance! • Any Senior that has received any outside awards(scholarships), please see Ms. Venega in guidance!

  36. Seniors planning to attend Project Graduation Party!!!! • Please complete a Project Graduation application and return to Mr. Freddie Deese ASAP! Those attending will have an Epic time and get a free t-shirt.

  37. Cap/Gown Orders • Jostens will be on campus Friday, May 18th during lunch periods in the Media Center to deliver cap and gown orders.

  38. SENIORS: • An important Senior Meeting will be held on Thursday, May 17th at 9:00 in the Cafeteria. • For more information see Ms. Venega in Guidance.

  41. National Honor Technical Society: • Any Junior or Senior interested in joining National Technical Honor Society need to see Ms. Caulder in room 209. • Student must be enrolled in a CTE course or previous taken a CTE course. Student must have at least a 3.00 grade point average.

  42. Attention Seniors, if you have been awarded any scholarships please bring in your letter to Guidance.

  43. Working Seniors: • Any Seniors working after school, please contact Ms. Harris in Room 210. You might be entitled to a unit of CREDIT toward High School Graduation.

  44. Attention Seniors, please bring your college, military acceptance paper to Ms. Venega when you receive them.

  49. 10th and 11th Grade Students • If you are interested in taking the Teacher Cadet class next year, you must sign up in guidance this semester. • Must have: 3.0 GPA, two letters of recommendation and be selected from the interview committee

  50. Teacher Cadet • If you are interested in the education field (to include teachers, counselors, administrators, social workers or coaches) this class will help to develop a better understanding of the role they play.
