  1. Snow Patrol By Bradley, John, Adam Ikhlas and Tuiane Snow Patrol is a British Band formed in Dundee, Scotland. They formed at the University of Scotland in 1994. The group has 6 members, namely Gary Lightbody, who is the vocalist and also a guitarist, Jonny Quinn is on drums, Nathan Connolly is the backing vocalist and the group’s guitarist, Paul Wilson is on bass guitar, Tom Simpson is on keyboards, and Johnny Mcdaid is the pianist/guitarist.

  2. Snow Patrol They made their name with the release of their first album ‘Final Straw’. This album went 5x platinum in the UK. Since the release of this album they have released 3 more major studio albums. The next album was called ‘Eyes open’ and was perhaps most famous for the song ‘Chasing Cars’. This album was followed by ‘A Hundred Million Suns’ and their most recent album, ‘Fallen Empires’ which was released in November 2011. They are currently touring, and are not working on a seventh album, as Gary Lightbody scrapped plans for a seventh studio album. Snow Patrol is primarily an Alternative and Indie Rock band. Alternative rock is a genre of rock that has evolved from the independent underground rock music of the 1980s. Alternative Rock reached its height of popularity during the 1990s

  3. Rock • What rock means and what it is: • Rock is a genre of music that expresses people’s emotions with more accurate guitar and drum solo. • Rock is Black rhythm-and-blues with White country-and-western. • Indie Rock originated in the U.K and the U.S in the 1980s. Snow patrol would be categorised mainly in the Indie Rock genre

  4. Codes and Conventions Snow Patrol connects to most rock bands which they rather perform in their music videos instead of having a storyline to show their skills and what they capable of. However, we decided to do something unique by having a narrative and interpretive lyric so it looks high standard and meaningful. Rock As you all know, rock music videos always contains facial expressions of the musicians or the actors in the video clip. This will be used in our project in order to relate the lyrics and the meaning of the song. Snow patrol’s music videos have various editing techniques which are usually shot live during concerts. They usually have fade and snow cutting effects. A very interesting video which is Snow Patrol - Take Back The City, they have used stop motion which makes the audience more interested. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sY_hkrQNAQo&list=UL

  14. Music Videos This is around the time in the video where things get similar to ours. She goes home, takes a bottle full of pills and come the end of the song, hangs herself. The song turns out the be about his deceased girlfriend and how he misses her (but he doesn’t miss the arguments they had). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BAiDKOqfvc There are similarities within the Video for Coldplay in the sense of the lyrics showing expressions of missing somebody close to them, and the grievance of wanting a loved one back. The music video is also similar to our storyboard in the terms that we are have the woman taken away from us before her time, and the male role would be lost in the woods. The difference between the music videos is that Coldplay have done theirs filmed in reverse, we will be showing ours in the current time frame and clips of the past in remembrance of the love they shared together http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqWLpTKBFcU

  15. Other Ideas The story line of this song is about a man who’s going to try his life somewhere new, and his lover is heartbroken. However, she says she will not stop him and she’s giving him all her good wishes. Rihanna’s song Farewell gives the audience a feeling of fear and independency this is why I decided to expand this video with messages and commit lyric interpretive. I have an idea in my head of a man walking looking unhappy on the side of a road, surrounded by fields. I imagine the weather being overcast and gloomy, and maybe raining. I think that as the song progresses the weather should improve to represent a more positive outlook. The song we are most probably doing is ‘You could be happy’ by Snow Patrol.

  16. Target Audience Target audience for this Music video will be for young teenagers. As our questionnaire showed us, there are a lot of young people between 16-17. By showing couples having a bad break-up makes the audience fit into the music video.

  17. Final Idea Two couples have had a break up. This music video will show the good times they had as flashbacks. The guy is sorry for what he has done but it was too late, the girl got run over by a car, and now the guy feels guilty.
