YP – Who are we? • Specialty Group for Young Professionals • Student Chapter members and students • Regional professionals up to age 35 • Local groups across the US with organized professional sections in: • Houston • Chicago • New York • Minneapolis • Cleveland • Pittsburgh • Several smaller groups

YP – Background • YPAB Created at the 2002 Leadership Development Conference in Houston • Intended to communicate the needs of young professionals to AIChE leadership (Board of Directors) • YP STS first led by Wendy Young in 2005 • Started attending local colleges • Largest Local Section Committee 2008

  12. National Regional Student YP YP • Serves the purpose of: • Focus on transition • Events designed to • Network • Educate • Have fun with peers • Offer/relay opportunities for YP’s to serve at Regional or National level • Guidance for career paths • Conduit for change at National

  13. YP-What we are doing • Monthly teleconferences to discuss YP issues • Speaking to Local Section Universities • Plan Events tailored to young professionals • Participate in Regional/National Conferences • Get feedback from other YP members
