Board Visioning Conference • Board members Darleen Holly and Amy Brooks attended the Leader to Leader (L2L) Board Visioning Conference March 1-3 in Little Rock. • Nationally recognized educational thinker Ian Jukes was the featured speaker, along with Dr. Bob Thompson from Lamar University and Dr. Francis Murphy, St. John Fisher College.

  5. Key Points: • Preparation for the future – Job Trends; Technology is changing (obsolete) at an exponential rate. The way we get information is changing along with the technology. • Headware vs. hardware and software – skills necessary for success beyond school. • Uses of Technology

Recent Study of the Use of Technology in Schools (Henry Becker): • Literacy – 70% • Learning how to use the technology • Adapting/Integrating Uses – 25% • Using the tech to teach like we’ve always taught. A new way to get to the same place. • Transformative Uses – 5% • Going to places never possible without the technology. Transforming the learning experience.
