  3. Menu Designer • Create new menus based on user needs and functionality • 3 default menus (Admin, Scale, Sales) Apex Designers

  4. Customize your own menu with your own name Copy from default menu Eliminate programs Eliminate folders Create folders Add custom reports Attach to user groups Menu Designer Apex Designers 4

  5. Activity: A. Create a custom menu for sales department. Click on the Opens the New Menu Wizard. Menu Designer Opens the New Menu Wizard Apex Designers 5

  6. Activity: A. Create a custom menu for sales department. 2. Type in SALESMGR for Menu ID. Click on Next. Menu Designer Apex Designers 6

  9. Activity: A. Create a custom menu for sales department. 5. Click on Dispatch/Schedule and click on Delete Item. Repeat for the following folders: Inventory and Operations. Click on checkmark to save. Menu Designer Apex Designers 9

  10. Activity: A. Create a custom menu for sales department. 6. Click on plus sign next to Sales. Click on plus sign next to Pricing. Click on Discounts and click on Delete Item. Repeat steps to delete Discount by Qty Break. Click on checkmark to save. Menu Designer Apex Designers 10

  11. Activity: B. Add custom report to menu. 1. Click on New Item. Type Custom Reports in the Text field. This will create a new folder. Click on checkmark to save. Menu Designer Apex Designers 11

  12. Activity: B. Add custom report to menu. 2. Make sure to have Custom Reports highlighted. Click on New Sub-Item. Type Quarterly Sales in the Text field. Uncheck JWS Item. Type name of report in Non-JWS File (Quarterly Sales.rpt). Choose image 81 in the Image Field. Click on checkmark to save. Menu Designer Apex Designers 12

  13. Activity: B. Add custom report to menu. 3. Click on Preview tab. You can preview changes done to a menu prior to attaching menu to a user. Menu Designer Apex Designers 13

  14. Activity: C. Attach custom menu to user/user group. 1. First you need to determine what group the user is assigned to. Go into Users program. Menu Designer Apex Designers 14

  20. Activity: A. Customize the Order Screen – Move a Field. 1. Choose Orders from the drop down menu. Click on Design. Screen Designer Apex Designers 20

  21. Activity: A. Customize the Order Screen – Move a Field. 2. You must have an order on the screen to customize the screen. Choose customer 0075 from the drop down menu next to Customer. Click on Design. Click on Customize. Screen Designer Apex Designers 21

  23. Activity: A. Customize the Order Screen – Move a Field. 4. Click on lower right hand corner of screen to increase the size of the screen. 5. Now we are going to move the Salesperson caption, field and name from the Sales tab to the General tab. 6. Right click anywhere on the screen and choose Switch to Tab and then choose Sales. 7. Right click on the Salesperson caption and click on Cut Control. 8. Right click anywhere on the screen and choose Switch to Tab and then choose General. 9. Right click anywhere on the screen and choose Paste Control. 10. Click on Salesperson caption and move below Zip/County field. 11. Repeat steps 6 to 10 to move Salesperson field and name from the Sales tab to the General tab. 12. Click on Design and then click on Save. Screen Designer Apex Designers 23

  24. Activity: B. Customize the Order Screen – Hide a Field and Rename a Caption. 1. Right click on County field and click on Hide. It is in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. 2. Right click on Zip/Country. Click on Change Caption. Click on OK. 3. Click on Design and then click on Save. Screen Designer Apex Designers 24

  25. Activity: C. Customize the Order Screen – Set a Field to Read Only and Set a Field to Required. 1. Right click on the Use Customer Information field and click on Read Only. You can right click on field again and choose Undo Read Only to undo it. 2. Right click on the Email field and click on Required. Right click again on the Email field and choose Not Required to undo it. 3. Click on Design and then click on Save. Screen Designer Apex Designers 25

  26. Activity: D. Customize the Order Screen – Change Tab Order. 1. Right click anywhere in the Information box and click on Tab Order. 2. Highlight edtReleaseID and click on down arrow until it is the last field on the list. 3. Click on OK. 4. Click on Design and then click on Save. Screen Designer Apex Designers 26

  27. Activity: E. Customize the Order Screen – Unhide and Hide a Tab. 1. Right click anywhere on the screen and click on Switch To Tab. 2. Click on tabDesignUser1. 3. On this tab you can cut and paste labels, squares and lines to any other tab you wish. Follow the steps on Activity A. 4. Once you are done with this tab, you need to hide it. To hide it click just below tab description. Right click and click on Hide. 5. Click on Design and then click on Save. Screen Designer Apex Designers 27

  28. Activity: F. Customize the Order Screen – Rename/Renumber a Tab. 1. Right click at the bottom of the screen right above the middle little black square in the middle of the screen at the very bottom. 2. Click on Change Caption. 3. Change the caption to &7 Ticket/Date.   29. Activity: G. Customize the Order Screen – Save to a different group. 1. Click on Design. 2. Click on Save As. 3. Click on TKTGROUP. 4. Click on OK. 5. Click on Design and then click on Save. Screen Designer Apex Designers 29

  30. Activity: H. Customize the Order Screen – Align Fields. 1. To align, right click anywhere on the screen and click on Alignment. 2. Click on the item you want to align, hold shift on the keyboard and then click on any additional items. 3. You can then do any of the following. Align left edges. Align horizontal centers. Center horizontally in window. Space equally, horizontally. Align right edges. Align tops. Align vertical centers. Align tops. Align vertical centers. Center vertically in window.   32. Activity: A. Add Phone Field to Customer Search. Find the correct field name for Phone in Data Definitions (StartProgramsJWS ApexData Definitions). Go to Customers. Click on “C” and then on Customers (Slcust). Search Setup Apex Designers 32

  41. Activity: B. Put Daily Sales Report on tab Reports. Click on Reports tab. Click on plus sign next to TicketsTicket Inquiry/Reports Product Reports. Click on Daily Sales Report and drag it up to empty bar at top. Click on Save. Customizing Tabs Apex Designers 41
