  1. Free Fall By: Mindi Scott Genre: Fictional Teen Romance

  2. A brief Summary of the Plot • It starts out as some boy who is misunderstood and Is forced to take a bunch of classes or else he will fail High school. In one of his classes he meets a girl, he doesn’t know much about her but he has seen her around the school a few times. He doesn’t think much about her at first, then they start having frequent conversations. Soon he realizes he really likes her and she feels the same way, then they start hanging out together. Soon after they are going out, she thinks that he is lying to her about telling her secrets. They break up and he is really sad about it, then she found out from a friend that it wasn’t him who had told all of her secrets.

  3. Point of view • The point of view on a story has to do with the person telling the story in this case it is the High School reject, Seth. It is written in first person which can make it more difficult to understand sometimes, like when Seth was drunk. • The Point of view in this story is about a boy who is failing in life and is not going any where with his life. When a person comes and guides him in the right direction and on the way to becoming a better person he finds love.

  4. Conflicts in the Story • There are conflicts between: • Seth and his brother over band issues. • Seth and Carr over Rosetta. • Seth and Vicki, its over him being with her best friend. • Seth in Kendall, because Kendall has been lying to him all along. • Seth and Rosetta, is about her not believing him.

  5. Characters • Seth- (indirect) At first you cant tell how Seth really is because he's always drunk, so it takes some time for him to get sober so we can find out his true personality. • Rosetta- (direct) Well since its from Seth's point of view he has been around Rosetta so much that you realize that Rosetta is always out there. • Kendall-(indirect) it takes some time to figure out that she lies about almost everything. • Carr-(direct) He is mean to Seth from the very first time they saw each other, and Carr likes Rosetta so he keeps trying to give Rosetta reasons to break up with him.

  6. Irony • I thought that Rosetta would never like Seth but she ended up liking him a lot, she seemed to high class.

  7. Foreshadowing • In the first part of the story he talks about him and his brothers all in a band, but Seth doesn’t really want to play in the band because he thinks that they have to many gigs. Then towards the end of the story he ends up quitting his brothers band before a big tour because he was scared. So he goes to his friends band but it ends up they are playing a gig at a local restaurant where his mom works, so he ends up getting over his little phobia.

  8. Likes/ Dislikes • I like how Seth and Vicki eventually be came friends. • I like how Rosetta and Seth got together, even though I didn’t expect it. • I disliked how Carr tried to sabotage Seth and Rosetta‘s relationship. What I dislike even more is that one time it actually worked. • I like how Kendall came clean about all of her lies she had told in the past.

  9. The general audience that this book was pointed toward was teens. • It was to have us kind of relate so something that we teens might face everyday.
