The Day of the Lord. What is “the day of the Lord?”. It is referred to as being a day of judgment (Zeph. 1:4-10) It is a day of destruction (Isaiah 13:9, Joel 1:15) It is a day of vengeance (Jer. 46:10, Heb. 10:25-31) It is unexpected (1 Th. 5:2-3, 2 Pet. 3:10)

What is “the day of the Lord?” • It is referred to as being a day of judgment (Zeph. 1:4-10) • It is a day of destruction (Isaiah 13:9, Joel 1:15) • It is a day of vengeance (Jer. 46:10, Heb. 10:25-31) • It is unexpected (1 Th. 5:2-3, 2 Pet. 3:10) • Day of Darkness (Joel 2:1-2, 28-31; 3:14-15; Amos 5:18-20)

  3. This day is coming!! • This day is near (Joel 1:15, 2:1, Is. 13:6) • Day of Salvation (Joel 2:31-32,Acts 2:20-21, I Cor. 5:1-5) • It will be unexpected (I Thes. 5:1-11,II Pet. 3:1-16) • It will great and awesome (Acts 2:20)

  4. We need to be ready • Can be a great day (II Pet. 3:10-14) • This day should not take us by surprise (I Thess. 5:2-11, James 5:7-10, I Pet. 4:7) • The ungodly will pay for their deeds (Rev. 20:10-15, II Pet. 2:4-11, Jude 14-19) • We need to take as many people with us as we can (Jude 20-23, II Pet. 3:7-9, I Tim. 4:16, Heb. 3:7-15,4:8-9)
