  1. Instructions for today’s class Read through all the instructions and then LISTEN to the substitute and do what you have been instructed to do.

  2. No WARMUP today. We will continue with the notes we started on the Equations of Circles last class. If you were not here, you will need to download the notes into One Note and get the notes from a classmate. In One Note, you will begin today with Going Round in Circles Revisited, pg 4.

  3. Work with your partner. Refer to your notes from last class, if needed. You may do this in One Note or in your notebook.

  4. Partner Activity The substitute will pass out a set of Equation Cards. One per group. Cut out cards and using a pen write the card numbers as large as possible on each card Before beginning the activity, look carefully over the equations. Some will need to be put in the correct form. (See #’s 2, 4, 7, 8, 9, 11, and 12) Make the necessary changes to the equations above. I have done two for you below: Card 2) Add 100 to both sides +100 +100 Looks good! Card 4) See anything out of order? Switch the and terms. Looks good! Continue with the necessary changesBEFOREstarting the activity and then follow the instructions on the next slide.

  5. Lay one computer flat and open to the Categorizing Equations Table (page 6 in the notes.) • Adjust the size to make the table as large as possible to fill the screen. • Take turns to place an equation card in one of the categories in the table. • If you place a card explain to your partner how you came to your decision. • If you don’t agree or understand ask your partner to explain their reasoning. • Write additional information, or include a drawing as part of your explanation, if necessary. • Some of your cards are to go in one of the cells in the final column. (You will need to figure out the coordinates for the center of the circle for all equations placed in this column.) • Make up your own equation for any empty cells. ***You and your partner need to agree on, and explain the placement of every card.

  6. To Get Credit For Your Work Use your partner’s computer to take a photo of your completed table. (Be sure you can see the #’s on each) The student who took the picture needs to email a copy of it to their partner. Each student will submit the photo in Canvas.

  7. After the Activity……. Work on Math XL Homework from last class (Equations of Circles) Ask for your Midterm Test Fill out scores on form (look on SIS to check of completed work) Work on Pink Worksheet (Crossword Puzzle/Simplifying Radicals) Work on Fractions WS (Front/Back) Turn whatever you finish into the basket
