AECEN AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE • To recognize and promote excellence in programming innovation, and outstanding commitment and service by women in environmental compliance and enforcement • Beginning in 2008, AECEN to make awards in two categories: • Award for Innovation in Assuring Environmental Compliance • Award for Outstanding Service and Commitment by a Woman • Members submit nominations • Twinning Grants Program • Best Practices Inventory via AECEN website

AECENAWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE Innovation in Assuring Environmental Compliance • Awarded to Member agency • Recognizes accomplishments in implementing initiatives that demonstrate innovation, leading to improved performance in agency programs • Nominations exemplify Regional Principles • Nominations demonstrate innovative strategies for overcoming technical, institutional, capacity or financial limitations to assuring compliance • Twinning Grants Program • Best Practices Inventory via AECEN website

AECENAWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE Outstanding Service and Commitment by a Woman • Women who have demonstrated outstanding level of commitment and service, distinguished by exemplary contributions • Women who have a demonstrated record of unusually meritorious achievement • Work of the nominee must advance the mission of agency, and contribute to enhancement of environment • Twinning Grants Program • Best Practices Inventory via AECEN website

AECEN AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE Nomination and Selection Process • In early 2008, AECEN Secretariat will solicit nominations from AECEN Members • Process coordinated through AECEN website – information about process, nomination forms, eligibility, judging criteria, and timing of the awards • Selection Committee of noted experts and former officials to review nominations and recommend awards in both categories • Twinning Grants Program • Best Practices Inventory via AECEN website

  6. AECEN AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE Announcement and Presentation of Awards: • AECEN Executive Committee to make public announcement of awards via media, AECEN website, etc. • Awards to be presented at 2008 AECEN Regional Forum • Twinning Grants Program • Best Practices Inventory via AECEN website
