  6. Barriers in Reaching Unchurched • The unchurched are not lazy but passionately disinterested. • Stirring worship, better pews, cool events are NOT compelling.

  13. Assumptions • God wants a relationship with everyone, and wants to empower His body to be on mission. • Love is a universal language. • People are not looking for your church. They are looking for reasons NOT to go. • You cannot influence toward Christlife until someone has connected with you.

  14. Vital Signs • How many accepting Jesus as Savior? • How many baptisms are you doing? • How many are bringing friends to church? • How many first time guests do you have? • How many evangelistic outreaches to you schedule? • How often are you praying for the unchurched?

A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, 'Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.‘ "'Sir,' the servant said, 'what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.‘ "Then the master told his servant, 'Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full.   18. iNvest • Give vision large enough to sacrifice for. • Set the generosity pace. • Communicate Biblical giving principles. • Provide contemporary means of giving. • Equip people to be financially solid. As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. "Truly I tell you," he said, "this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.“ Luke 21:1-4 Move everyone to partner tangibly in the mission

PRESENCE • Church people must be visible in the community. • Connect with community picnics… • Community wide-rallies... • Community concerts… • Community projects. • Join with soup kitchens… • Join tutoring programs… • Key… Identifiable and consistent. • Shirts, hats, conversation "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:13-16

The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!" Jesus stopped and called them. "What do you want me to do for you?" he asked. "Lord," they answered, "we want our sight." Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.   27. BIG Day … Set Your Goal • Pray, involve leaders in prayer • Staff or key leaders (top 10% of church) set Spirit-infused goals • Goals push you to become more than you are. • Big idea: Double average attendance with each Big Day

  28. BIG Day … PLANNING FOUR P’S IN BIG DAY PLANNING PROMOTION: Key element in letting your community know that your church exists. PRESERVATION: Evangelism is pointless without retention. We need to plant seeds AND harvest crop. Give birth AND grow up. • PASTOR: Set evangelism priority through example and guiding strategy and culture. • PERSONAL EVANGELISM: Church members share faith and invite people to church and Jesus.
