    7. Industry Canada Public Alerting Forum 6/11/03 What viewers see Most viewers will see a local alert message across the TV screen. A generic audio alert will notify those unable to read text to seek more information.

    9. Industry Canada Public Alerting Forum 6/11/03 It starts with authorized agencies… Determine the need for an alert, and the wording of the text and audio alert messages. Identify affected areas, duration of warning Send the alert to Pelmorex

    10. Industry Canada Public Alerting Forum 6/11/03 Pelmorex verifies the message We will reconfirm all alerts with the issuing body before distribution. Our system is supported 24 hours X 7 days.

    11. Industry Canada Public Alerting Forum 6/11/03 The alert is relayed across Canada Alert text messages are sent via satellite in the national TWN/MM data streams. An audio message is posted on a 1-800 number

    12. Industry Canada Public Alerting Forum 6/11/03 The affected area reads the message Local Pelmorex equipment accepts only alert text messages coded for its area.
