Project Selection/Initiation • Problem Statements Due September 15 from State DOTs, AASHTO Committees, and FHWA • All Traffic & Safety Problem Statements Evaluated by Panel (includes Tom Hicks, Bill Lambert, Lisa Fontana-Tierney) • Balloted by State DOTs in December and January • Selection by AASHTO Standing Committee on Research in March (~40/160) • Panel Nominations by end of May • Panels meet in August to October to develop RFP

  10. 20-07 Selection/Initiation • Problem Statements from AASHTO Highway Subcommittees Due One Month before the AASHTO Spring and Fall Meeting • Funding must be less than $100,000 • Selection by NCHRP 20-07 Panel during the AASHTO Meetings (~80% selected) • Staff develops panel based on discussions with Subcommittee • Panels develop RFP and discuss potential contractor via conference call or email
