  1. Updates on School-based Assessment (SBA) School Leaders’ Briefing Session 5 March 2012

  2. Updates on SBA • S6 Submissions for 2012 HKDSE • S5 Submissions for 2013 HKDSE • SBA Streamlining Arrangements

  3. S6 Submissions for 2012 HKDSE • Scheduled to be completed by 20 Mar 2012 • Review of SBA marks/work samples and SBA moderation conducted in Feb – May 2012 • Moderation for network programmes • Review and improve the submission arrangements in light of the 2012 experience

  4. Moderation for Network Programmes • Some schools join together to offer network programme for NSS subject(s) • If students from these “network schools” are taught and assessed by the same teacher(s) using the same assessment standards, it would be desirable to group these students into a single moderation group, so that students within the network will receive comparable moderated results • Schools will be requested to confirm whether they have formed such networks in S6 this year (for the 12 subjects with SBA in 2012 HKDSE only) through a school circular, to be issued in mid Mar 2012

  5. S5 Submissions for 2013 HKDSE • Submission Period: 3 May – 13 July 2012 Ref: School circular dated 7 Oct 2011 http://www.hkeaa.edu.hk/DocLibrary/DSECirculars/2012HKDSE-SBA-Schedule.pdf • Submission arrangements similar to 2012 exam • Full details to be provided in the mid Mar school circular

  7. SBA Streamlining Arrangements For 2013 HKDSE (i.e. this year’s S5 students): • Streamlined SBA for Chi Language advanced to 2013 exam • Interim measures adopted for Liberal Studies • In both subjects, the tasks/marks to be completed in S5 remain unchanged

  8. Streamlined Requirements for Liberal Studies in 2013 HKDSE

  9. SBA Streamlining Arrangements For eleven deferred subjects: • Full implementation of SBA postponed to 2016 HKDSE exam, with trials conducted in 2014 and 2015 exams • SBA designs of six of these subjects will also be streamlined

  10. SBA Implementation Schedulefor Deferred Subjects (Revised)

  11.
