  2. Who is Miss Etter? • Born & raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania • Went to the University of Miami 2002-2007 • Fifth Year teaching. • Very excited to be your child’s teacher!

  5. Classroom Management= Key to Success Respect others, the way you would like to be treated. Expect rewards for Positive Behavior. Stay in your seat and always ask first. Preparation is half the battle. Expect consequences for Negative Behavior. Creativity always! Don’t be afraid to try! To share out loud, RAISE YOUR HAND FIRST.

  6. GRADES A 90-100% Awesome! B 80-89% Good! C 70-79% Keep Trying D 60-69% Do Better  F 0-59% Needs a Parent’s Signature! XExcused

  7. HOMELEARNING Boost your grades with Home Learning Points! Agendas are mandatory. Some assignments will be graded. If home learning isn’t turned in regularly, parents will be notified. Check the Back Board every day!

  8. How Can You Learn, If You Don’t Come To School? Students are tardy after 8:30 a.m. After an absence, please make sure to send a note for the absence within 2 days. • The only acceptable excused absences are • Student Illness • Medical Appointment • Death in Family • Observance of a religious holiday or service when it is mandated for all members of a faith that such a holiday or service be observed. • Any extended absences should be approved by the principal prior to the absence.

ATTENDENCE POLICYMater Gardens Academy • Absences • Unexcused • For every 3 unexcused absences a referral is given • Excused • For every 10 absences a referral is given • Note: Only 10 handwritten notes are acceptable. After that doctor’s notes are required. A referral will be given for every 10 absences with handwritten notes that exceed the initial 10. • Tardies • For every 5 tardies a detention is given. • For every 10 detentions a Referral is given. • 3 Referrals- Not allowed to return next year.

  10. We LOVE Your Help! Parents are required to volunteer 30 hours per family. $3= 1 hour Below are some of the options for completing the volunteer hours: • Classroom donations: Copy paper, Dry Erase markers, paper towels, tissues, etc. • Chaperoning on Field Trips: ALL volunteers NEED to be cleared by the MDCPS!! • Gift Cards: Office Depot, Target, Michael’s, Walmart, etc. • Common Core Booksand Novels
