Sexually Transmitted Diseases • STD’s- are contagious infections that are spread from person to person by sexual contact. • Over 75 kinds • Exchanging bodily fluids • Viruses, fungi, bacteria • Some have no cure (or strands that are no curable) • Example: gonorrhea • Some show no symptoms • Carriers- people who carry the std but show no symptoms • Sexual Abstinence- is the deliberate choice to refrain from all sexual activity.
