  2. Statistical Center of Iran is legal responsible for compilation of economic statistics and national accounts. National accounts compile by Economic Accounts department at Statistical Center of Iran. • There are 30 member in Economic Accounts that they are divided to 7 groups: • Agriculture and Construction • Manufacturing, Mining and Energy • Transportation, communication and financial activities • Other service activities • Regional and Expenditure • Government • Quarterly

  3. Statistics are disseminate through the web. Concepts and principles of 1993 SNA follows in compiling national accounts. Economic activities and products classify according to the ISIC Rev3.1 and CPC Ver1.1 respectively.

  4. Economic Statistics • GDP by Production • GDP by Expenditure • Institutional Sector Accounts available non available

  5. GDP by production • Gross output • Intermediate Consumption • Value added • Producer Price index (in most of Sectors) • Commodity Production • Production Index • Number of persons employed/hours worked available non available

GDP by production • GDP estimate compile with annual and quarterly periodicities at current and constant prices. • Estimates of output, intermediate consumption and value added release 9 months after the close of reference year, and estimates finalize 20 months after the close of reference year. • Financial services indirectly measure (FISIM) allocate to user industries.

  7. Quarterly estimates compile from last year, but for reason of some problem with providing data statistics it doesn’t release.

  8. GDP by Expenditure • Household consumption expenditure • Consumption expenditure by non-profit institutions serving households • Final consumption expenditure by government • Gross fixed capital formation • Change in inventories available Non available

  9. GDP by Expenditure • GDP by expenditure estimates compile with annual and quarterly periodicities at current and constant prices. • Quarterly estimates compile from last year, but for reason of some problem with providing data statistics it doesn’t release.

  10. Regional accounts • There are 31 states in Iran. • Regional accounts compile by production approach at current prices. • Regional accounts disseminate with annual national accounts.

  11. 2008 SNA implementation • There are training workshops in 2008 SNA of Economic account staffs. • Economic activity and product classifications revise base on ISIC Rev4 and CPC Ver2. • We are compiling 2011 use and supply tables base on ISIC Rev4 and CPC Ver2. • We are going to compile regional accounts by expenditure approach until 2 next year.

  12. 2008 SNA implementation • Quarterly accounts have compiled since last year and it will disseminate from next year. • We are going to use administrative data and so we had an agreement with audit organization of Iran for access to fiscal statements of government enterprises. We have received a part of information last year up to now.

  13. Some problem • We have not adequate number of staff resources for compiling statistics. • We have some problem with exhaustive coverage sample surveys for small and informal sector enterprises.
