  1. SLD Data Analysis Efforts • Unification of working group meetings • Heavy Flavors • QCD • Electroweak (to some extent) • “Unified” meeting on Fridays at 10:00 am • Brief Overview of activities • Heavy Flavors • (see transparencies) • QCD • Electroweak • Final Alr result released to Moriond • Lepton asymmetry still in progress • Group activities winding down • New Tools • VX Alone vector utilities to be released soon • Full benefits post summer conferences?

  2. Current Status: 1) New vertex charge Ab preliminary result from Tom Wright going to Moriond. Very significant improvement in analysis including using R17 VXD alone vectors. He will combine in the kaon analysis as he comes back. 2) Electron Ab neuralnet analysis essentially finalized with Jorge's Fernandez’ thesis completion in November. As both Sal and Jorge are gone, this is effectively the last word. Tom will also report the Ab electron result from this last update. 3) Giulia Bellodi is now working on the detailed systematics for the muon Ab analysis and hopefully will finalize by the summer. Both lepton analyses didn't get much improvements from R16/R17 so that will finish with R16. 4) Victor Serbot started to look at jet charge Ab with R17. He has figured out some significant improvements in analysing power with better track selection. This should finalize for the early summer conferences already. 5) Masako Iwasaki’s Ac D*,D is already done with R15/R16. We have arleady had one round thorugh the paper reading committee. The revised draft of the PRD will hopefully be out soon to the collaboration. 6) Tom Wright will bring the Ac K+Vtx analysis up to date after he is back using his latest R17 gadgets and hopefully finalize both Ab,Ac by the summer. 7) Sean Walston has formally joined the Rb,Rc effort and is now learning the ropes. Nicolo deGroot has a rough plan for the joint Rb,Rc analysis and we really want to have a preliminary result with most of the modern machinery by the summer. However, this will be rather challenging due to the available time from Nicolo and Su Dong. 8) Aurel Trandifir is well advanced towards finalizing his B semilepton Br measurement and hopefully we will have a result by early summer. 9) Mark Convery will try to finalize the B->sg with R17 and have a paper after the summer. 10) Aaron Chou is making good progress on the B->DDX, but there will still be quite a few steps for a first preliminary result. Hopefully DPF this summer is a good goal for that. After Summer: Many analysis will be in the writeup state, but a few may run a bit longer: a) Sean's Rb,Rc work. b) Aaron's B->DDX. 3. B Mixing GroupStephane Willocq 1) B+/B0 lifetime: goal is to finish the analysis for 1996-98 R17 data by June and prepare paper shortly after (circulate by end of summer?). 2) Bd mixing: goal is to release preliminary number for 1996-98 data by end of July. Paper would follow at the end of the year. 3) Bs mixing: goal is to release preliminary numbers for 1996-98 data by end of July. One or more papers would presumably be worked on in the Fall. Concerning our activities beyond the summer, I expect that a fair amount of work will still be done to bring the mixing analyses to final completion, there are still 3 PhD theses to be written and several papers. Realistically, it may take well into 2001 to finish all of this. My guess is summer 2001 to be done.

  4. QCD GroupPhil Burrows Bfragmentation: PRL accepted. preparing a PRD by summer A_s: preparing PRL g -> b bbar: PRL by summer b bbar g symmetry tests: PRL by summer gluon energy and anomalous b-quark moments: paper spring 2001 Lambda polarisation: in progress pi/K/p in quark/gluon jets: in progress B-hadron energy correlations: in progress we'll definitely be meeting after the summer!
