  2. What is a games programmner? A games programmer is an individual who develops codebase for video games or a similar software

  3. Working Hours • Game programmers work at least 10-12 hours per day for seven days a week. Their extra worked hours are noticed.

  4. Earning • Game programmers usually make $50,000 - $65,000 per year. It also depends on what type of company you work for. Some companies usually offer more earning potential depending on how successful they are.

  5. High school Credits Credits needed: • Grade 11 or 12 Computer Science • Grade 12 English • Grade 12 Mathematics (MAP4C, MCT4C, MDM4U, MCB4U, MGA4U, MCV4U or MHF4U)

  6. Education/Training Required • Should be trained in digital audio, computer software programs, also have an understanding of computer software programs and game consoles.

  7. Where is this education/training available? • Humber Collage- Game Programming • Algonquin Collage – School of media and design (Game Development) • The Art Institute of Vancouver –Game & Visual Programming • ITT Technical Institute

  8. Qualifications • Should be successful in a variety of skill areas within the digital and interactive games industry. Should be an independent specialist or part of a large team. Games require online, mobile, internet and TV assistance. Should be qualified in all these • Should have graduated high school with a diploma and passed the OSSLT Literacy Test with the required courses for the program

  9. Employers in the Peel Area • There are not much employers in the peel area however, some individuals are willing to hire if you are over the age of 19 and qualified and expert in what you do.
