  4. Measuring DC CurrentUsing the meteras anAmmeter

  5. Measuring DC Current 1. Complete the hookup without making the final connection to the power source. A

  6. Measuring DC Current 3. Rotate the dial to the maximum setting on the DCA Range 4. Make the connection to the power source to send a current through the circuit.

  7. Measuring DC Current 5. Reduce the DC Amp setting step-by-step until a reading is obtained. 6. Record the reading. What if the reading is in mAmps? Convert the reading to Amps.

  8. Measuring DC Current 7. Disconnect the wire from the power source. 8. Rotate the meter dial to off.

  9. Measuring DC VoltageUsing the meteras aVoltmeter

  10. Measuring DC Voltage 1. Complete the hookup without making the final connection to the power source.

  11. V Measuring DC Voltage 2. Connect the leads of the meter across the region you wish to know the voltage.

  12. Measuring DC Voltage 3. Rotate the dial to the maximum setting on the DCV Range 4. Make the connection to the power source to send a current through the circuit.

  13. Measuring DC Voltage 5. Reduce the DC-Volt setting step-by-step until a reading is obtained. 6. Record the reading. 7. Disconnect the meter wires from the circuit.

  14. Measuring DC Voltage 8. Disconnect the connection from the power source. 9. Rotate the meter dial to off.

  15. V Measure the voltage of the battery. NO! DON’T DO IT !!!! NO! NO! Voltmeter connected in SERIES

  16. MeasuringResistance

  17. Measuring Resistance 1. Connect the meter leads, one to each end of a resistor. 2. Rotate the meter dial in the resistance range until a reading is obtained. 3. Record the reading. 4. Rotate the meter dial to off.

  18. That’s all folks!
