We recruited over 1000 new patients to take part in research. • As a result of our staff’s commitment to engage patients in research we were able to produce our results in over 100 publications which are being put into practice both in the UK and internationally. • More information on how research is being put into practice, plus an up to date list of publications, can be found on Camden and Islington NHS FT’s website.

  15. National Research Ethics Service (NRES) •  All research in the NHS must gain a favourable opinion from an NHS Research Ethics Committee (excludes audit or service evaluation) • The process of applying to RECs was standardised in March 2004 • Since April 2009, application is online through ‘integrated research application service’ IRAS (includes R&D permissions)

  17. Dementias & Neurodegenerative Diseases Research Network (DeNDRoN) DeNDRoN is part of the National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Network which supports research to make patients, service users, and the NHS, better. We promote and expand research into Dementia, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s and Motor Neurone Disease. Dementias and Neurodegenerative Diseases Local Research Networks: 1. East Anglia 2. North East 3.
