Some Activities in Japan • Direct Imaging • SEEDS (Subaru Strategic Exploration of Exoplanets and Disks with HiCIAO/AO188) • Subaru 8.2-m telescope + coronagraph • SDI, ADI, PDI • Scientific observations starts from 2009, observe ~500 stars for 5 yrs • IR Doppler • update of Subaru spectrometer -- ongoing • Else? • AKARI • Small programs for planetary companion search, spectroscopy for transiting planets (3—5 micron) • SPICA(launch in 2017) • Approved as a “pre-project” in July 2008 (moved into Phase-A) • Review to move into “project” in early 2011 • Discussion on exoplanet science is ongoing
